Hi Mary, it was great to see your reply to me!
Whilst I live in Sydney, Australia, we are actually in the UK for around 3 weeks, staying in the Forest of Dean, catching up with family & friends.
We arrived last weekend & have spent some of this last week on family history things.
This week we located the graves of Tom & Harriet Gwynne (nee Aston) in the Parkend churchyard. Tom & Harriet are my great great grandparents. I am descended from Tom's son James (who apparenty was known to everyone as Chippy Gwynne!).
This was 1 of our goals on this trip back.
It would be great if we were able to meet you while we are here?
I am not sure that this forum is the place to post contact details, so if you have any ideas of how we can make contact with a view to catching up (if you would like to do that) please share them with me!

Hi Paul
I'm Mary Dowdeswell. My Great Grandfather was Thomas Gwynne, who married Harriet Aston, and I am descended from their daughter Maud. Most of my family still live in the Parkend area. I would be delighted to add any family detail you would be willing to pass on to me, to our family tree.
I was only able to trace the Gwynne family back to William and George who married the Ambury sisters - Mary and Anne respectively, but could not have gotten any further without the help of Mike Johns, he must take the credit for all research prior to William and George.
Paul I must tell you that Steve Dowdeswell is not slowhands and never will be. Whenever a query is posted on this site slowhands is always the first to take up the challenge and has helped me find lost relatives on more than one occassion.
It's wonderful to meet you and I hope to hear from you soon.

Gwynne Family Tree Update

Hello everyone, my name is Paul Gwynne, I grew up in Parkend, my parents were Eric & Anne Gwynne, who are both no longer with us. In 1987 I left the Forest of Dean to work in New Zealand & I now live in Sydney Australia. My wife & I have been tracing our family histories & have found a very detailed family tree relating to the Gwynne family tree on this link http://freepages.family.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~dowdeswell12/wc02/wc02_113.htm We believe it was created as part of the Dowdeswell family tree by Steve & Mary Dowdeswell. This detailed tree has made our job very easy in tracing our family & it goes back further than we could have ever imagined. In reading various posts on this site relating the Gwynne families there is information posted by a Steve Dowdeswell (aka slowhands?) - is this the same Steve Dowdeswell?
Is anyone out there able to tell me how to update the family tree as myself & my sister Ruth have not been added to my parents as children. Both myself & my sister now also have children & it would be great to be able to add another generation to this part of the famliy tree.
Any asistance here would be greatly appreciated
