Elizabeth Ann Hapgood (reply)

Hi Barbara,

I have not been on for a while , but Merryl Kempster contacted me, and let me
know about someone else searching Elizabeth Ann Hapgood,

My husband is the great, great, grandson of Joseph Cooper who was
married to elizabth, and then to Constance Caudle, I have been researching this family for a while.
I have spoken to quite a few people and everyone has a different name,
for the parents of joseph cooper 1801 and hannah hale 1806.

I have met Merryl she lives not far from me in Edinburgh, and I was in Cinderford two years back, and cant wait to come back it was a beautiful place....we visited some of the streets that they lived in and Hannahs grave...

Looking forward to hearing from you..

Irene Cooper

Elizabeth Ann Hapgood (reply)

This seems to make us related. Elizabeth Ann died in 1883 age 39 from TB(then called phthisis)when my grandmother Rhoda Robbins (nee Cooper) was six I have a copy of the death certificate. Rhoda would have been a sibling of George.
Also have copy of Enos and Elizabeth's marriage certificate.17th May 1862 He was 20 and she was 18. Enos was son of Joseph, then deceased. Elizabeth's father was John.
Hannah Cooper, Enos's mother, seems to have lived to a ripe old age.

Suggest you have a look at the surname register - Irene Cooper - and contact her. She has done a lot of research. I, and probably you, are related to her husband.

I will put an e-mail address on the surname register in case you are interested in a less public communication.

Elizabeth Ann Hapgood

Does anyone have any information on the birth of Elizabeth Ann Hapgood about 1844? Her Father was John Hapgood, don't know her Mother, and she married Enos Cooper in May 1862 in East Dean. John might have come from the Bristol area originally.
