FreeBDM - have a marriage at Ross of John BAYLIS to Jane WEBB - Sept Qtr 1843

As John (born Mitcheldean) - seems to work in the same 'industry' wondered whether this was Thomas' brother? named after father?

Hi Maria

I am afraid I don't know the parents of Thomas Bayliss. I do have Thomas Bayliss in my Family Tree as his daughter Harriett married a 4th cousin of mine James Roberts bap 22 Oct 1826, they married 9 Oct 1852 at Drybrook and had one child that I know of Frances bapt. 27 Mar 1853.

Thomas Bayliss married Mary Baynham 25 Dec 1832.

Thomas Bayliss & Mary's son Thomas 1836 married Mary Elizabeth Griffiths and they emigrated to USA 1866. They had 5 children including Emily Jane Bayliss 1862 who married John Carter in USA. Another researcher Nancy Roberts posted an obituary for this Emily :

I am trying to find further information on Tom BAYLISS.
This is what I have so far but not confirmed. He married Mary ? b.c. 1815 Ross Herefordshire. Their children were, Harriet b.c.1834. Thomas b.c. 1836 or 39. William b.c.1838. Hiram b.c.1840. Henry b.c.1844. Elizabeth b.c. 1846. John b.c. 1849 Richard b.c. 1850 Edwin b.c. 1850 (twin of Richard) and George b.c. 1856.

I found on the Forest-of-Dean census index 1861 census Tom Bayliss. age 47. Westbury Brook. Box 13 Piece 1756 Folio 49 Schedule 6. I wonder if this is him?

I am looking for the birth date, place of birth and parents of Tom. If anyone is researching this family or has any information on them I would love to hear from you.
