William, the elder was born Rendcombe, started off as a Miller- His Son, William (whom I think attended most of the inquests) became a butcher/dealer, 1871-1881 census - ran The Temperance Hotel, Blakeney in 1891 , and 1901 - was at Nibley Mill, in Blakeney, raising Shire Horses.

2 in 1870, 1 in 1871, 2 in 1872, 4 in 1873, 1 in 1875/1884/1885/1887/1888/1903 - so obviously not a 'regular' income for this family. There must have been a 'system' in place during the 19th century - as there was in 'English Coroner System - Part 3 - The Inquest (medieval times)

The payments to Jurors, Surgeons, Witnesses etc is listed at the bottom of each Inquest. If my 'old money head' is working correctly, it was about 8d each for Jurors.
