Can't see a marriage George HAWKINS/REECE marriage on FreeBDM - only in Wiltshire c1892

This the World War I era - may be the reason for only one birth registered around that time?

is available (to anyone and is free - on line - Mother's maiden name was only entered on these records during 1911)

Purchasing certificates from the Records Office is the usual way forward to obtain information. These records are not covered by the Forest of Dean.

For example

The marriage of

Amelia E HAWKINS

John Joseph and glenis, are 3 of Williams siblings.

Heather
Anne
Bryn (maybe Robert)

are the others.

That makes the 7. But you have only mentioned the first 3 in your find?

Is there any trace on Amelia being daughter of George Hawkins?

Glenis is living in Australia.

At the moment, I think George is my great great Grandfather.

Hawkins and Hartland Families (reply)

Hey, ive been reading the threads on the Hawkins family.

My grandfather`s mother is Amelia Hawkins. My mother has told me she was a great pianist and won medals for it. So I thought, maybe she has some Fame. However I found not fame, but a huge family tree.

Supposedly her fathers name is George Hawkins (providing I got the right one), who lived on a farm in Gloucestershire.

Amelia Hawkins + Joseph Whittall gave birth to William Whittall(, ~ I dont have dates of these things sorry.

A few stray things, something about the family coming from a Manor house.
Also the name Humphrey s.

HARTLAND (reply)

Hi. My grandfather was Wilfred Hartland born in Newent 1880 ish. His father was William Hartaland married to Florence Hawkins. My own father Howard George Hartland was born in Horsham Australia, but came to the UK as a child and married my mother in Birmingham .
I'm interested in finding Wilfred's brother Henry Bernard- born 1880's in Newent. I believe he had a son Bernard who may have been adopted not natural and think they went to live on the Isle of White.
I can get back to early 1600's down the Hartland line, but not as far with Hawkins. Yes you have found the right ones . I know that either or possibly both George Arthur Hawkins and Charles Howard Hawkins went to USA in the 1890's.

I'm also interested in Hartlands as I was born Linda Hartland and know that my family live in and around Newent for about 500 years.

You'll have to help us a little here, I can spot your records and track from Derbyshire back to Warwickshire but I cannot make the leap back to Newent yet !

a name / date will help get you into the correct HARTLAND branch

Hawkins and Hartland Families

I'm researching Hawkins in the forest of dean. My great grandfather was Charles Hawkins married to Louisa Stephens of Gloucester. He was born about 1820 ish I think. His brother was Joseph Hawkins of staunton Court, Staunton by Newent. Charles had one son who went to USA and lived in L.A. the other seems to have disappeared - George I think .I would love to hear from anyone with more information.
I'm also interested in Hartlands as I was born Linda Hartland and know that my family live in and around Newent for about 500 years. Thanks
