Amelia CARPENTER 1826 Lea Bailey (reply)

I can add something to this. Susannah Carpenter was my GGGrandmother c1788-1859. Her parents were Robert and Susannah Carpenter, he c1755-1837, she c1756-1837.

The children were William b. Tintern 3Feb1788, Susannah B? died Soudley 1859, Robert Chapel Hill 1791-1805, Mary Chapel Hill 1793-1864, Ann Lydney 1796, John Lydney 1797, James Lydney 1800 (Marr Dinah Marshall 1826 witnesses William and Ann Marshall as pointed out by Marylin, Richard Redbrook 1801. There was a Thomas too, married Esther Dawe at Newland 1818.

Mary Carpenter 1793-1864 married James Morgan 1787-1874 at All Saints Newland in 1811. Lived at The Incline Redbrook and are buried at All Saints, gravestone extant.

I had correspondence with a Nikki Carpenter in 1992, then Channel Islands.

The Liley in previous post is probably Lydney.

The Carpenter's were moving around in the 1790's and early 1800's. Could'nt find my GGGrandmothers baptism. Searching IGI, nearest entry I could find was 1788 or 89 a place in Cornwall, I notice Liskerd (Liskeard?) in previous post.
