I have recently obtained a photograph believed to be of Mrs Green at the High Street, Cinderford Studio. I have sent it to Dave Watkins for inclusion on this site.

I have only found a few at the present there should still be other boxes of photo s in my attic, if you saw my attic you would understand its no mean feat trying to find them its full to the roof will keep looking.

The old photos of views of Cinderford we have displayed in our Photo Gallery would have been scanned from post cards of the period. I would imagine many of them were taken by your great-grandfather as he was a prominent photographer in the area at the time.

Would you please advise me if you received the email I sent you a few days back regarding the collection of photos of your great-grandfather?

i have no idea on thr gardner side as yeti think my grand father jack gardner was from london, as my father victor was born in london. Any info i get will pass it on good luck.

The certificate is for a oliver leslie green his father was william green the wedding wwas 1914 at westbury registry office

Do you have a family line Gardner in your family tree. My grandfather William Gardner b. 1898 lived in Mitcheldean and my father Frederick Leonard, along with his brothers Frank and Harold all grew up there.

Any info would be appreciated

That would be really interesting to so many people. Putting faces to the names of ancestors we have already 'met' on paper would be simply fantastic.

Hello all i have just started to reseach my family when i found a marriage cerificate for my great grandfather,when his daughter died who was my grand mother i found thousands of old photos it apears now my great great grandfather was the town photograher in cinderford his name was william green the wedding certificate is dated 1914 which would put him at aged approx 50 any information would be greatly recieved. Will go through alll the photos at some point as i presume it may be quite an archive for many families in the forest of dean.
