Hi all new to this but here goes I have traced my family name Barrington to James 1816 he's married to Ann Everett 1891 from Awre drawn a blank on James Barrington were he comes from and a John Barrington 1816 and Elizabeth Barrington 1820 and Ann Barrington 1839 have turned up were do they fit in. also a Robert De Barrinton his mentioned in H.G.Nicholls Book The Forest of dean a historical and descriptive account. I think he was from York and was given forty acres of land at Malescoyte-wood by the king is that were the name got in to the dean just a thought. Tony

I believe that Stephen Barrington 1858
Married Margreat Bevan born 1854 they had a two sons Steven my grand father James Owen who married Lilly James and Lydia who Married Ray Smith and moved to South Wales New Bridge I was told. Margreat Bevan was from Pembrokeshire the family ran Bevans coaches soudly
Steven had a son Albert John(Jack) Barrington my father and two daughters Doris(kitty) born 1925 who married Sydney (Jack) Waite and Margreat (Peggy) born 1920 Who I believe kept the queens hotel in Lydney with her husband who's name was Ray Smith they had a son and she moved to Bishops Cleeve alfter Ray died to live with him.This is probably no help at all but I thought I would let you know.Tony Barrington

Mmm, The Stephen Barrington born 1892 owned Rock House, Bradley Hill 1928-1937. This house was built c1870 and owned by my great grandfather. It passed out of my family in 1928. My grandfather was born there.

This is on England & Wales National Probate Calendar, but it belongs to Thomas HALE who married Florence HOLDER 7 November 1895, Cinderford.....

Thomas HALE of Collafield, Littldean died 5 october 1940 at Dilke Memorial Hospital, Cinderford, Gloucesteshire. Probate Gloucester 26 August to Florence Hale WIDOW.

I am the grandson of the subject whose wife Florence died in 1923.I believe he married again about 1926 to the landlady of the Queens Head Hotel Lydney but I can find no trace of this.
My question is what was the name of the landlady referred to who was resident at the pub in 1926,how long was she in residence and was my grandfather ever listed as living at the pub.
