KEAR Lineage - Averil Kear (reply)

Hi Pete

It might be worth emailing Averil Kear on this one as she has been researching the Kear family for many years. If you search Users under AverilKear (joined together) you will find her email icon.

Best of Luck!

KEAR Lineage - several children in her late 40s/early 50s (reply)

If you google - you will find

'Guiness Book of World Records - the oldest spontaneous pregnancy in modern times occurred in a woman who delivered when she was 57 years & 120 days.

My Great Grandmother (born 1822) was 47+ in 1869 when she gave birth to my Grandmother (well the birth certificate say she was her Mother) - after getting through 3 husbands from 1838 onwards..... approx 30 years of having children. Like many women, my Grandmother born in 1869 - started having children when she was 16 - up to the age of 41 (13 children in total- and my Grandma was only about 4'10" and lived till she was 80. Tough times....

KEAR Lineage - several children in her late 40s/early 50s (reply)

Hi

Here is exactly what I have.

This is the info kindly made available over on Ancestry,

The last few births would have mothers age into her late 40s early 50s.

Parents William Kear 1726 – 1804
Eleanor Court Tomblins 1727 – 1816

Familysearch shows a marriage of a William to a Eleanor in 1747 no actual date just a year.

Children of the above as suggested on Ancestry.

William Kear 1747 – 1809, Matthew Kear 1752 – 1838, John Kear 1754 – 1757, Anne Kear 1755 – 1836 ,Richard Kear 1759 – 1804 ,Benjamin Kear 1763 – 1836 ,Isaac Kear 1766 – 1808, Eleanor Kear 1768 – 1782 ,Enoch Kear 1771 – 1846 ,Samuel Kear 1773 – 1850 ,Mary Kear 1776 – 1803 ,Peter Kear 1778 – 1837.

The question would be now,"31 years between oldest and youngest sibling?."

Its a cross check before I add it to the various trees I am working on.

Br

KEAR Lineage - several children in her late 40s/early 50s (reply)

Some background information from you would help.

Baptisms of chidren of William and Eleanor Kear at Newland using the Advanced Search

1749 KEAR William
1752 KEAR Matthew
1759 KEAR Richard
1762 KEAR Benjamin
1768 KEAR Eleanor
1773 KEAR Samuel
1776 KEAR Mary
1778 KEAR Peter

There are two possibilties:

1) They are all children of the same William and Eleanor
2) William born 1749 or another William KEAR also married an Eleanor and the later baptisms are of their children.

I cannot find a marriage of a William KEAR to an Eleanor. Can you give us details of the marriage and how do you know the age of Elianor?

Some more information that you know of would help us to help you. I suggest you read the Poasting Guidlines which gives details of what to include when posting a query.

KEAR Lineage - several children in her late 40s/early 50s (reply)

Hi

Taking this a bit further, would Matthew Kear Bap 1752 be a brother of Peter Kear 1778 or are the parents names a coincidence?.

KEAR Lineage - several children in her late 40s/early 50s (reply)

If you have gathered the information of the children from census records, then it is very likely that the information recorded is not completely correct. I have found on a number of censuses of my own family that children have been recorded as son and daughter but in fact they are grandsons and granddaughters.

I've also found children listed on censuses as being their sons and daughters of the head, when in fact they are the children of other family members.

KEAR Lineage - several children in her late 40s/early 50s

Hi,

I have been tracing a tree for a family friend and found her lineage returns to William Kear and Eleanor Court Tomblins. My daughters lineageMaternal) returns through another child of the above as does a portion of my tree (Paternal side).
My question is this,

I have noticed that she had quite a large family and she seems to have had several children in her late 40s/early 50s. would that seem to be correct?.
