John Cole and Mary Morris, married 1845, St. John the Baptist, are my 2x great grandparents. I had the date of their marriage from the family Bible, but had no other documentation, so appreciate the Gloucestershire BMD link. Thank you!

Slowhands - Thanks for the forwarded information. No, the marriage cert doesn't give me any more hints. We have the Cole family Bible with the family info written in from John and Mary forward to my generation. I've got Mary Morris' family traced back a few generations, thanks to this website, and all their children's information (their son William John is my 2x great grandfather). John is the stumbling block. So far, information kindly sent in reply to this thread has not "fit." I'll keep plugging away.

I am searching for the names of the parents and/or siblings of John Cole, who was born on 17 Nov 1819 in Harescombe. His wife was Mary Morris (b. 1817 in Minsterworth) and they lived in Ross-on-Wye from at least 1861 to his death in 1877. They managed two hotels there (The Royal Hotel and The George Hotel, according to family history). Their children were: William John, Annie Morris, Frederick John, Mary Jane, George Henry, and Charles Albert. Any information would be most appreciated.
