Hi there, thanks for all your info, this is very interesting with the sailmaking and fisherman occupation being a thread. Do you know if this kind of occupation was common at the time? It is also interesting to find that Albert did have half brothers and sisters, wonder whether they knew of their father's previous alliance?

Albert Edward WILLIAMS 1865 Woolaston (reply)

Thanks slowhands, The birth record and baptism seem to tie in as I have the birth certificate stating Alberts father was William Tamplin, a fisherman, though don't know what happened from there. Know Albert went to live with his Uncle George Williams in Wales but wondered what happened to William Tamplin, if he did go onto marry and what happened to Elizabeth, did she marry and where did she end her days.
Thanks

WILLIAMS - 1881 Census (reply)

Hi, Thanks for all the info, this does concur with my thoughts. Does anyone have any info regarding William Tamplin who does indeed seem to be the father of Albert, if he did marry presumably his occupation would be on the marriage certificate?

ALBERT EDWARD WILLIAMS B 1865 WOOLASTON

Looking for info regarding my great grandfather as detailed above. Only birth cert I could find of an Albert Edward Williams in Woolaston stated that the mother was ELIZABETH WILLIAMS but father was WILLIAM TAMPLIN a fisherman. Can find no record of Elizabeth ever marrying William Tamplin so wondered what the story was and if William did indeed stay Elizabeth and William stayed in Woolaston. Albert is found in the census for Wales in 1881 living with a GEORGE WILLIAMS who claims Albert is his son. Would like to know what happened to him between his birth and this time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
