Does transcriber have original image for Record ID 114701? (reply)

Gets a bit complicated when you start selling things, turns it into a business with all that that entails. Most people would feel obliged to make a donation though in return for a document image like that. I did, and I did.

And I'd have to add, the speed with which the site admin responded to a transcription error i'd identified was incredible - they could teach some of the 'professional' sites a thing or two!

Does transcriber have original image for Record ID 114701? (reply)

Hi,

My wife has family interest in Northamptonshire.

Some organizations there, who have photographs of records from their County Records Office try to sell them on, for a fee.

The cost varies from 'land owner's' charges to ' agricultural labourer / woodsman's' prices!

Has 'Admin' thought of that?

Does transcriber have original image for Record ID 114701? (reply)

Thanks for the reply, David.

I'll be happy to submit a request via the 'transcription errors' form although, despite the question mark over the brides surname, I don't know that the transcription is necessarily incorrect. I just wondered if a digital image of the record was still sitting on someone's hard drive. If it were, and they were willing and able to share, it would save me a very long trip to Gloucester to dig out the original.

Does transcriber have original image for Record ID 114701?

This parish record is for my 3x-gt-grandparents' marriage in 1822. Would the transcriber of this record still have an image of the original record, and if so, is it something they would be prepared to email to me? The record ID is in the subject line of this post, and I will append the full transcript below.

I am also currently trying to track down baptism records for these 2 individuals, but without much luck. If anyone can help I would be grateful. I do not know where in GLS the family were living before 1822 though, so it may be the family stems from the 'wrong' side of the Severn for this forum in which case I appreciate you wont be able to help.

George and Hannah were both born in Gloucestershire c1799, +/- 2 years. I am reasonably confident the father of George COLLIER was named William, born c 1772 and a bricklayer by trade, but need George's baptism record to prove the link. William's wife in 1841 was called Mary, and she may well be George's mother, but I have no evidence. Mary's maiden name may have been WELCH (there is a marriage record that fits), but that is just building assumptions on assumptions.

I believe Hannah's maiden name was was actually Hannah Hemming DUNN, Dunn being the maiden name given on some of her childrens' birth certificates and her death certificate (1855), not Hemming as per her parish marriage record. I note one of the witnesses was also a Dunn. Perhaps Hemming was her mother's or grandmother's maiden name, given as a middle name? I have no details of her parents, and can find no Dunns or Hemmings living near where she married by the time of the 1841 census. Brick wall.
