Hi thank you for your reply. My dad is Franks younger brother his name is Leslie and he is still going strong at 84. your information is slightly wrong as Beryl and Frank have 2 children still living Kenny and Sandra. Kenny lives near my neice in Middleton Leeds. I remember your grandmother Kate she lived with my aunt Gladys in Bramley.

Ivy didnt go to live with Frank she came to live with us when i was about 9 years old, and she lived with my parents until she died many years later aged 85.

Hi Linda

My fathers mum, my grandmother Kate Gladys Preece was Ivy's sister they both moved to Leeds my gran was born 1890 and died 1961. Ivy had a son Francis (Frank)Preece he married Beryl Duffy they had three daughters and two sons, sadly there is only one daughter left now all the others have passed.my oldest brother Jack married one of the daughters and had three sons and a daughter.
Ivy and my gran both lived in 32 Queens Place in Leeds together.until the early fifties when my gran father died she moved to the Sandford area of Leeds and Ivy went to live with her son Frank in the Gipton area of Leeds.
I have a few photos of Ivy and her son Frank.

I have just started to research my fathers origins. His mother was Ivy Preece and I know she was from Mitcheldean and that she later moved to Leeds in Yorkshire to work in service there. If anyone knows of any living Preece's in the area I would be very interested to make contact with them.
I think her father was called Thomas and her mother Elizabeth. She was born in 1896 on 18th November and baptised on 30th December same year in the parish of Drybrook. Address given for home as Ruardean Hill and father's profession is coalminer

Can anyone tell me the maiden name of Thomas Jonah Preece's wife Elizabeth, and what happened to Katy Gladys Preece between 1890 and 1911 as this is my granmother she died in Leeds in 1961, she had two brothers Sidney 1883 and Thomas 1887 she also had two sisters Lotte 1882 and Ellen 1885 my grandmother was born in Nailbridge and I think they lived at 37 Ruardean Hill, I traced the brothers and sisters but cannot trace my gran.
