In 1928, she arrived in Cardiff on tne ship SS George Washington, as Florence Davey,she had married Thomas Davey, a widower, abt. 1918, 1n the US census for 1920, they were living in Pennsylvania. She and her parents were born in England.

I only found out yesterday that on her arrival in Cardiff, she stated the reason for her visit was to go to Broadstreet, Little Dean, Newnham, which suggests her roots were there, but I still can't find her.

Thank you Slowhands, I guess that rules her out,
I have searched for Florence for the last two years, in Clutton, Bedwelty, Pontypridd, Cardiff, London, Canada and the USA, I didn't think of the FOD.

Could someone please put me out of my misery.

Florence Bryant born abt.1875, Rotherham, daughter of Alfred Bryant.

I really need to know if she emigrated to Canada/USA, if she didn't, I can rule her out.
I have been chasing a Florence, born abt. 1875 who is related to Arthur Ruck Bryant or his wife Alice Tucker, my grandparents.

Pity about the Alfred Bryant/Sarah Cowley connection, it looked so neat and tidy, and made sense, and Nellie in Bolton, born 'Senderford' looked promising.

I'll try to fathom out who Emma Jane is as she may lead us to Helena's identity - she may be a sister /in-law ( the Lancashire connection with Cawthorne tends to support the 1891 census entry)

I have found the last entry in a UK census for Unsworth Rothwell was in 1891 Hackney, London, and a Nellie M Bryant in Marylebone in the same year.

If her parent's were James and Emilie Bryant, perhaps Helena decided to take the plunge after her mother died in 1911.

I still cannot find a connection that would make Helena a niece of Arthur Bryant though.

Arthur Bryant, my grandfather, was brother to Maria Ruck, the children of Stephen Bryant. I have no idea where Helena was born, I thought she may have been the daughter of one of Arthur's half brothers (children of Stephen Bryant and his first wife Sarah Hill)
