Viewing the list of Gloucester Inquests (reply)

Can we only find them by searching the 'Search Forum' box?

When viewing the forum in index mode you will see All categories near the top right hand corner of the page, change it to Inquests in the drop down list and go on to page 2 where you will now be able to view the entries and names of the people who the Inquests are about.

Gloucester Inquests from Gloucester Journal 1722-1838 (reply)

What section are these Gloucester Inquests in? On the Home Page - we have the heading Inquests, but not these early ones. Can we only find them by searching the 'Search Forum' box?

The website in question has been useful.

X Great Uncle - Edmund/Edward BURROWS - who died at Rendcombe 7 April 1838 age 42 (and Gamekeeper/Farmer) - seems to have died as a result of a fall from his horse. He and his wife Ann (nee WOOD) a year before had lost twins (Edmund & Elizabeth) who died in 1837 at 3 and 6 weeks.

There is an awful number of Hopkins names in that file. We must be terribly accident prone, or Hopkins must have been a very common name in the area in those days.

I noticed one death (not necessarily a Hopkins) that was the consequence of a Visitation of God. Goodness gracious.

A very interesting reference - thank you.

Gloucester Inquests from Gloucester Journal 1722-1838

Gloucester Inquests from Gloucester Journal 1722-1838

This gives an interesting insight into these times in Gloucestershire (quite a number of references to FOD people/villages)

www.genebug.net/glsinquests.htm

This document appears to be 447 pages long - so using the Edit/Find button throws up FOD villages easier - i.e. 31 matches for St Briavels.
