Still trying to confirm whether the John Morgan who married a Jane Smith in 1826 is the John Morgan who in the 1841 census was born in St Briavels in 1802
in the 1851 in Alvington in 1801, and the 1861 Census Alvington in 1804.

If anyone has any information that confirms where and when he was born and to whom, I would be very, very grateful

Does anyone know if the Elizabeth Morgan, who married Alfred Hulin in 1853 is the daughter of John Morgan, labourer and Jane Smith

There`s a John Morgan baptised in Tintern on 26 Dec 1802 son of John & Elizabeth.

The 1871 Census, I believe John Morgan died in 1873 shows him living with his daughter's family

her husband in Albert Hulin! in this census, they say John Morgan was born in Tintern,in 1804 how far away is Tintern from the scene of things?

There is a marriage at Alvington of a Thomas MORGAN to a Hannah JENKINS 1786 (FOD records) just too early - but still looking for a marriage of George THOMAS to Hannah?

Families did live in groups

Thank you so much for your help I am 6,000 miles away and the proximity of these various parishes is a puzzle for me!

I like the idea of their witnesses being their neighbours well spotted!

I was going to track every marriage between 1801 - 1804 who had a son named John.

I thought that maybe John might be named for his father in John and Elizabeth, the family also named their daughters elizabeth or

Maybe, father James and Ann Lydney, John and Jane's their first son was names James? was it a tradition to name the first son after the father or grandfather

any other ideas?I am discounting the age in the 1841 census, so we are looking at a birth in 1801 Abington, Newland?
1804 Alvington - blaleney, Chepstow

or 1803 East Dean, near cinderford / Littledean

how come he didn
t know where he was born?

is there a family connection with the two witnesses at James THOMAS and Jane SMITH's wedding in 1821 @ St Briavels : George & Hannah THOMAS - a couple of the same name - living next door to them on the 1841 census... St Briavels (Fence)

George THOMAS - 55 - Ag Lab
Hannah THOMAS - 60 (on the 1851 census, St Briavels : George is age 65 and Hannah age 70 says she was born in Lidney) - ????? Alvington is nr Lydney

can't find this marriage yet....

I am looking for the parents of John Morgan, who married Jane Smith on 1 0ctober 1826

the 1841 census says he was born 1802 St Briavels

1851 census says 1801 Abington

1861 " " 1804 Alvington

1871 " " 1803 East Dean

I have found their children, wondering if any of their children's descendants or

anyone else can give me any info on how I can determine which John Morgan belongs to

me, I would be very grateful!!
