Thanks for that.I was wondering whether they had gone to New Zealand.Couldn't find anything regarding them on American or Australian passenger lists.

Ruth ELSMORE was my Gt Aunt. Jacob and Ruth immgatrated out to New Zealand with Ruth's family The ELSMORE. and both she and Jacob died in The Big Bush, Marlborough, New Zealand without family.

You mentioned Jacob Dorrington and Ruth Elsmore.Do you know what happened to them after their marriage in 1872?I notice that you have date of death for Ruth was that in this country or abroad.I can't find a death entry for her.

Maria ELSMORE was born 1716 in Bream, Gloucestershire. She married Henry POWELL 23 FEB 1734 in Newland, Gloucestershire.
Also I have Ruth ELSMORE married to Jacob DORRINGTON

I am wondering whether anyone has information re Powell family in Newland/Coleford.
My gt gt grandmother was Maria Powell who died aged 68 in May 1846 and is buried in Newland.That puts her year of birth as 1778.The problem is that in Newland baptisms there are 2 Mary Powells one baptised 2 june 1778 daughter of John and Mary Powell residence Coleford and the other is baptised 8 june 1778 daughter of Thomas and Mary Powell residence Coleford.How to find out the right one?Maria Powellmarried George Dorrington12 july 1815.
