Thanks to the pair of you I have been having great fun today searching censuses on a free trial offer! I have been finding various branches off and the addresses of where they lived - great for my diet as it keeps me out of the kitchen!

Our FOD transcribers must take a great deal of credit. The only thing I contribute, is my time.

Well, I do subscribe to Ancestry, which is the biggest help, which I enjoy sharing as most of my family tree has been searched, and really because I know my x Grandparents and other people's Forebears would be 'tickled pink' and surprised to think we all want to know about them.

Also the Gloucestershire Family History Society Discs.

I've got two, Gloucestershire Marriage Index 1800-1837 and Gloucestershire Baptism Index 1813-1837 - there is a Burial Index as well.

Fortunately, Hugh KEARSEY - Chairman of GFHS Society, has explained recently on Gloucestershire Rootsweb, the following....

'What is not approved of is to offer to do look ups. An appeal for help is permitted'

This clears the Copyright debate - which I did raise with David WATKINS our Adminstrator a while back

Also various contacts made over 15 years of family tree research - who are always on hand (via email, to help)

WOW!!! (and in caps because if I could jump up and down with delight I would!). That is fantastic - I had traced Sarah Ann through the Viney Hill cemetery but got totally stuck in Gibralter.

Thank you both so much; I will now have to try and trace Jeremiah and Ann Manns. A week ago all I knew was that my great-grandmother Sarah was married to an unknown Smith and had, when he died, married an Embling, who had died before her, but knew no dates, nothing (didn't even know her name was Sarah Ann at that point). Bless you both.

Thanks - I had the details from the 1881 census when they lived in Gibraltar but can't find any after. When Elias died she married someone by the surname of Embling and she lived on Blakeney Hill.

Apologies as I am very new at this. Sarah was born in 1854 and I have traced that she died in December 1940 aged 85 and lived on Blakeney Hill. I think she married Elias Smith (b 1851). In 1881 they lived in the hamlet of Gibraltar. I can't seem to find either of them before or after.

Can anyone please help me or tell me how to progress from here?
