Jenkins family Newland

I have a Susannah Jenkins born 1809 in Cwmcarvan DO Walter Jenkins.

The Cambrian papers indicate she married a William Jenkins of Gloucestershire abt 1832 and gave birth to a son in 1835 (Walter) named after her father.

On the 1841/51/61 census she is with Richard my gggrandfather. They married in Monmouth in Dec 1837 This was Richards' second marriage.

A brother of Richard, James died in 1835 (inquest posted on the site).

The grandfather of Richard and James is William b 1733 d 1821. Richard and James also had a brother William b 1802 d 1872.

Susannahs' son Walter was born in Newland (1851 Census) before she married Richard. I believe Walter was the son of her first marriage but I cannot find any baptism record on the site for him (Of course he may not have been baptised)

I believe Richard married Susannah folowing the death of her first husband who I suspect was James. Although contradictory to the facts published in the Cambrian B10 papers, is this a possibilty?

Regards

Tony
