DIED SUDDENLY

Death came suddenly to Thomas Wright, one of Glen Lyon's best known and most highly respected residents yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, while in the discharge of his duties. Mr. Wright and his son Alfred, employed in the capacity of engineers in the same room where the engines used in hoisting cars at No. 6 tunnel are located, were busily engaged when the former was stricken. The son was at the throttle of one of the engines when his father fell while walking across the floor, and as soon as his trip of cars had been safely landed hurried to his father's side, but death had been instantaneous and all efforts toward restoration were futile. Desceased was born in Shropshire, England, 52 years ago and for past twenty years had resided in Glen Lyon. He was a member of th M. E. Church, Victory Commandery, 243 Knights of Malta, and the Glen Lyon Knights of Maccabees. He is survived by his wife, seven children, Mrs. Alfred Wynn of Connecticut, Thomas and John of Nanticoke, Alfred, Margaret, Bertha and Edith of Glen Lyon. The funeral will take place on Tuesday afternoon, with services in the Glen Lyon M. E. Church at 2 o'clock. Interment will be at Nanticoke Cemetery.

Edwin & Louisa WRIGHT of Ruspidge (reply)

I am Wayne Bryce. My great great grandfather was Thomas Key Wright. He came to America in 1893 along with his brother Edwin. They sent for their wives and children later (Sept 1893). They all moved to Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. Thomas K. Wright worked in the coal mines as an engineer and died of a massive heart attack while working alongside his son Alfred Morgan Wright. Edwin Wright was killed by a runaway trip of coal cars in 1908. I have a ton of info on these two brothers. Are you related to these men? Would love to correspond with you. I can be reached via the envelope above. I live in New york.

Edwin & Louisa WRIGHT of Ruspidge

Edwin Wright c1858 married Louisa Williams b1858 on 06/05/1877 at Drybrook.
They had the following children that I know of (all born Ruspidge).

John & Minnie c1878
Edwin 1880
William 1882
Arthur 1883
Ellen 1887

They were still living in Ruspidge when John died in 1883. I haven't been able to find any subsequent records for this family on the FoD site. It looks like they may have decamped! As you would expect, Edwin was a coal miner. He was born in Ruspidge and Louisa in Newnham. Is anyone able to find out where they went to please?
