Well bang goes another theory on the origin of 'my' Mary Tingle. I do hope that someone will come along who can untangle my Tingles for me!

Hi Carole
I've William and Mary (nee Venn)Tingle in my tree from Abenhall,Mary Venn is my 4x Great Aunt from Ross.I've found Mary their daughter married to Phillip Edwards at Michel Dean Mar 12 1812.They had 4 known children William born 1814 Mitcheldean. Elizabeth abt 1816 Abenhall. James born 1821 died 1824 Abenhall. Harriet born 1818 Abenhall.From the 1851 census Mary was born in Abenhall age 62, she died in 1857 age 69, her burial is in Abenhall July the 4th, Her husband Phillip buriel same place Dec 9 1865 age 77 years He was baptised in Langdogo Monmouthshire in 1789 May 30 son of Thomas and Elizabeth Edwards. I believe that my 4x great grandmother Mary Tingle was the daughter of William and Mary Tingle of Abenhall. That would suggest that Mary was Mary Venn of Ross on Wye born in 1752. This William could be the son of Joseph and Elizabeth baptised at Littledean in 1749 although this seems to be in conflict with some views on this site.

Does anyone have any information about the Tingles in Abenhall?
