Hi, I am Simon French grandson to Alice pritchard originally from harrow hill, if you would like any information about the family my father has researched it in great detail and would be more than happy to help with any questions you have. My great aunt Lucy passed away a few weeks ago leaving only my grandmother and her sister Lilian, Lilian still lives on Harrow hill! Any more information you need I will be happy to help

my grandad was sid pritchard.he died in december 1993,i am led to believe that his parents were fred and edith his sisters lucy and lillian are still alive . sids family mainly live in bournemouth dorset.

The Heath / Pritchard is compounded by a transcription error. I read Leah's children as PRITCHARD, and Henry HEATH being head of household. In 1901 Henry is "boarder", and further PRITCHARD children have been born.

Jo,

I don't know much about the Pritchard family. My father can't remember much and Leah (known as Vera) Pritchard who married into the Butler family passed away quite a few years ago now.

My father remembers his mother's family living at Harrow Hill. So, with the assistance of Slowhands have traced the family to the census records that you have read above.

I have not been able to trace my Grandmothers father or the father of any of the siblings, will have to send off for her birth / marriage certificate.

As to why some of the children appeared in a census with the name Heath I don't really know. From the census records I gather that Leah (my gg grandmother) was originally employed by Mr. Heath as his housekeeper. She must have lived in his house with her children as they are listed at the same address. In the next census records she is listed as "living as wife". This may have been why there was some confusion on the part of the person taking the census with reference to the surnames of the children. I don't know whether Leah and Mr. Heath ever did get married, or if they as a partnership had any children. Sounds like something out of a Catherine Cookson novel doesn't it . . . .

Hi dont know if you can help. Im trying to trace family beyond my great grandparents. My gran cant tell me much. her father died when she was 9 and her mum had nothing to do with familyafter that. i know that my great granddad was a Charles Pritchard who died in 1939 was born around the 1870/80's . I know he was married to an Edith Mary Bullock who died in 1971. They are both burried in the forest church and lived in drybrook area. i dont know much more.My nan cant tell me much more than that apart from the fact that she knows some members of the family were called Heath for some reason , but should be Pritchard. I saw that you had the same thing in your family trace. my nan doesn't know the reason for this.

I am researching my Grandmothers family. Her name was Leah Vera Pritchard and she was born on 8th June 1927. Siblings were Alice, Lucy, Ralph (b. 09/08/1024 moved to Chester), Sid and Lil. Her father was Fred Pritchard and I think that he was born in 1893 he was married to Edith (although I can't seem to track down the marriage information).

My father seems to remember the Pritchard family living in the Harrow Hill, Nailbridge, Drybrook area of the Forest. I have been unable to track anything down for Fred accept a possible link with a 1901 census. I wonder if anyone else has researched this family?
