Illegitimacy Adoption (reply)

well I've spent the weekend painstakingly trawling through the marriage & death records covering the years 1915- 1962 so far

There is only one entry that could possibly be the child born in 1920, a marriage in Plymouth in 1945. I doubt it her but only a marriage cert can confirm

I found a death entry for the child born in 1925 died in same quarter

I am presuming if one were adopted that they most likey changed their names

Illegitimacy Adoption

I have come across 4 illegitmate children, 1 born to one mother and 3 to another(sisters) all 4 born in the 1920's so could still be living.

The single child, was brought up by another couple but kept the name given at birth so has been fairly easy to follow, I found him through his granddaughter on Genes reunited

However the other 3 children were totally unknown of and my father (cousin to these children) also born in the 1920's hasn't heard of them before either, 1 died in the same quarter as their birth, that leaves me with 2 so we are presuming that these 2 children may have been brought up elsewhere or adopted.

Would anyone know the best way I could try and find out more about these missing 2?
Birth certs list East Dean as place of birth on one and Westbury S on the other, mother is listed as a Domestic of Cinderford on both, so i am presuming that they were both actually born in Cinderford.

Was there a local place where adoptions were arranged ?
