I suspect one of these is the Henry listed in Bristol in 1901

probably Herbert's brother and descended from a FOD Jenkins who moved to mine the North Bristol / South Gloucestershire coal field.

You say you have information about Henrys parents/siblings etc. Can you give the names d.o.b of his parents and some siblings, this may help in establishing whether this is your Henry or not. As you know sometimes children live next door to their brothers/sisters/parents etc. Some extra information from you might be useful in tracking him down.

Well, I haven't come across a brother called Herbert yet, doesnt mean there wasn't one, and I think that the Herbert I mentioned wasn't nessecarily his brother but I thought that perhaps there was some connection because of the surname and place of birth. What do you suggest I do next to determine if this is the right guy?

To be honest Bertha, I wasn't aware of the Army bit. The only info from the 1901 census I have had access to is what you can see for free at the mo on Ancestry.com. Are you able to access the 1901 census in complete form? If so I would appreciate it if you could tell me of any other info that goes with these people. In 1891 he is described as a labourer and again as a labourer when he married in 1907. But this doesn't mean he couldn't have been a Coal Miner as my family are full of those too!

Any more thoughts on this appreciated!

Do you know anything about Henrys profession?
You may have already seen that in 1901 Census you mentioned, he is listed as Coal Miner, but underneath it says he is in the army Prince Albert Light Infantry. Would this tie in with what you know about him?

Hi, I have a Henry Jenkins b. abt 1876 Woolaston on my tree. He is my 2xG Grandfather. I have a fair bit of info regards to family that came before him (siblings parents grandparents etc.) He married in 1907 to Annie Elizabeth Pritchard and the only child I have for them so far is my Great Grandmother Ruth Louisa Jenkins b. 1908 Woolaston.

I have looked for Henry on the 1901 (I already have him on the other censuses) and the only one I could find that comes near to matching is in Bristol with a Wife Eliza b. Bristol, no children. Can anyone else come up with a better match? or do you agree that this must be the right one? He was down as a bachelor when he married Annie but I have learnt never to take anything I see on a marriage entry as gospel lol! On the same page in Bristol as them was also another Jenkins, this time it was Herbert S. Jenkins age 22 b. f.o.d. with wife Louisa b. Bristol and son Herbert S. b. 1901 (aged 1 month) b. Bristol. Do you think that they connect?

Any help appreciated.
