I have received in the last few days an email from Ruth Williams via the forum who uses the name "Harleygirl " to this very old thread.

I have responded using "reply", so the email address was the same one as used by the sender, it has nevertheless been rejected twice by the Mail Delivery Subsystem.

William Henry Yemm and Emily Partridge (reply)

Hi Graham

I don't check the F o D web site as often as I used to.

I have a copy of William Henry Yemm's Death Certificate if you would like a copy.

I am still on the same email address as used when we communicated years ago.

Let me know if you would like a copy.

William Henry Yemm is not related to me, but I used to generally go too far with my research. His wife Emily Partridge next married Richard James Matthew Turner born 1888 in 1941. I have that certificate as well, also his death certificate, but I did not have her death so have learned something. The real connection of course involves the Marfell's as the mother of Richard James Matthew Turner was Elizabeth Marfell 1849/1918. Richard James Matthew Turner was living with the Yemm family in 1920.

Richard Turner sailed from Liverpool UK on board the SS Oceanic arriving in New York on 21 Feb 1907. His final destination is shown as being Brazil, Indiana USA. His fare was paid for by his brother Samuel. The ships manifest shows that he was to stay with his brother Samuel. Richard was described as being 5'7" tall, with fair hair & blue eyes.

Thanks Chris

I already had the 1901 wedding and it looks from the GRO Marriage Index like there was no other Yemm(M)/Partridge(F) wedding. So the 1903 Alfred Henry is pretty sure to be theirs.

But where did they go then?

Regards
Graham

William Henry Yemm and Emily Partridge (reply)

There's a family tree on Ancestry that seems to match:

William Henry Yemm (parents James & Julia) married to Emily Partridge.

William died 16 Nov 1918 in Cuba, Fulton County, Illinois
Emily died Feb 1973 in Hot Springs National Park, Garland, Arkansas

4 children are recorded:

Alfred Henry Yemm 1903-1980
Catherine "Katie" Yemm 1905-1918
Alice Mabel Yemm 1907 -
Ellen "Nellie" E Yemm 1909 -

I have no other knowledge of this family other than the above derived from someone else's family tree so cannot vouch for its accuracy.

-Colin

PS

Wm Yemm, Emily plus infant on SS Luciana - departed Liverpool 12 Aug 1904 for New York.
