HI James was my gr gr grandfather unfortunatly his date of birth seems to alter from 1801 to 1803 to 1806 in the cencus I cannot even find his death date .I think you may be right about ann being his mum that was my conclusion . As I am not completly sure i have drawn a line on my family tree stopping at James.

I hesitate to do so but I beg to differ with slowhands.

I have James Brain, son of William Brain & Beatta Beddis in my tree. This James married Mary Herbert.

I also have a James Brain baptised 3.9.1809 as son of James Brain & Ann I believe this James married Agnes Roberts. This being the second James, the first baptised 20.6.1808, died 13.11.1808. James Brain & Ann also had a son Benjamin baptised 4.8.1811 who married Elizabeth Meek.

At the marriage of James Brain & Agnes Roberts the first witness was Benjamin Brain.

I have looked on all the archived messages concerning james brain born about 1806 married to agnes roberts about 1832 .I have the cencus and know all about his children but i cannot find who james father or mother was .Anyone out there who can help ?
