Allen WINTOUR Grocers Apprentice from Newnham was a witness at an inquest into the death of Sydney CARLISLE on March 4th 1891, but written in pencil by Allens name is :-
Died of shell wound at Mafeking April 11 1900 No 101 Protectorate Regiment Bechuanaland SA
