Thanks for your info - I hadn't got as far as looking into Granddad's service history, and you've given me a lot to work with. I do know that Trevor served in Kirkee India during WW1. I realise it might be a silly question, but do you know if those who served in both world wars, had the same service number carried forward from the one issued to them in WW1?
