I ran a search for Decima Short, aged 59, on the 1861 Census Name Index & it showed her & the rest of the family as living at 'Chemical Works'. Sorry I dont have any more info, I hope this is of some help.

'chemical works' - there were several linked to the iron / coal/ charcoal works.

Would have to see the context to narrow down which chemical works

I've just had a quick look at the 1861 census name index. By some of the names the place is written as 'chemical works'. Where is this?
