I think the 1881 rules out the marriage to HIGGINS in 1877.

I wonder if this is Thomas marrying another Alice in 1882? He's the right age and father's name is the same. If it is, then he wasn't the father of the three girls. I've just noticed it says 'Bachelor' but they wouldn't put 'divorced' in those days would they?

Alice Rosina WATKINS (b1861) Yorkley

I am stuck locating Alice Rosina Watkins (b1861) born in Yorkley. Her parents were Henry Watkins (b1839) and Sarah Price (b1840). I know Alice married Reuben Malson after they moved to Castleford, Yorkshire in 1891. There are several children before this, Alice (b1883), Emily (b1884)and Edith (b1886) but I am unable to work out who the father is or indeed even to find their records. They were all born before the move to Yorkshire.

Did Alice marry Thomas Higgins in 1877? Is this the same Alice or another? Are these girls Thomas's children or Reuben's? They were all called Malson when they moved to Castleford. I wonder if the reason Alice and Reuben didn't wed until 1891 (just before the 7th child was born, Lily, my great aunt) was because she was still married to Thomas (?).

Can anyone help to sort this out, please?
