<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Thanks everyone, not sure where this Stray is from yet not sure he's mine as he's born in Ross.</p>
<p>married Lydia Blanch  of Ruardeen I've tracked him by census from 1851-91vand as far as I can tell they have no children and in his later life it states he is paralized.</p>

<p>I think that Cordwainer is more generic , as in one that works Leather.  It was adopted mainly by Shoemakers,  rather than Saddlers or glovemakers !</p>
<p>There is a  further distinction between working with new leather - cordwainer and old leather - cobbler.</p>
<p>2 pennies worth :-)</p>

<p>I have found a stray Ireland marrying in Ruardeen <br />
occupation for groom is Cordwainer</p>
<p>I'm trying to work out if this John Ireland can belong to to my tree in anyway...havent heard of a Cordwainer anywhere else</p>
