I live in Australia but have made contact with some Jordans in Christchurch.
They are related to Thomas's youngest siblings which were born after they arrived in New Zealand.

7 May 1958, aged about 93, he resided in 30 Burlington St., Christchurch, New Zealand.

8 May 1958, died aged about 93, in Christchurch, New Zealand.

10 May 1958 buried in Block 46C, Lot 71, Sydenham Cemetery, Christchurch, New Zealand.

NZ Probates: Name JORDAN Thomas; Place Christchurch; Occupation Labourer; Court Christchurch; Archives Reference CAHX CH 171 577/58; Probate Number 577/58; Filed Date 5 Jun 1958 Type Will; Further enquiries to Archives NZ - Christchurch

Burial Record states years in NZ as 81, giving an arrival year of 1877.

MARY HYNDMAN born about 1868 in Ireland, died on 24 September 1940, aged about 72, in Christchurch, New Zealand, buried on 27 September 1940 in Block 46, Plot 72, Sydenham Cemetery, Christchurch, New Zealand.
Emigrated from Ireland to NZ about 1874.

Martha Meredith was a 2nd cousin of mine, would love any info you have on the family, please.

From my unverified notes the family arrived in Lyttleton, NZ on 1 Feb 1878 on the "Carnatic" (ship somewhat in doubt). This fits in with the mass baptisms 28 Oct 1877.

Take your pick - two Thomas Jordans, first one probably died, can't find burial atm.
