The Blistors Bream (reply)

Hi, Linda. I've only just spotted this thread.

I don't know if this will help your research, but with regard to Blistors if you go to www.sungreen.co.uk, click on "Search" and enter "Blistors" you'll find that several references come up.

Sadly Roger Dennis who supplied most of the material died last year. I'm afraid I don't have any other information except, rather remotely, that I identified Nesta Fryer as probably having eventually owned a bungalow called Salmon Stone at Etloe, a hamlet about 5 miles from Blistors.

The Blistors Bream (reply)

Thank you for your replies, helps to update my family tree.

With baptism records showing Mary as daughter of Sarah Brain single woman and no fathers name recorded, not 100% convinced George Rickards was Mary's father, although Sarah married George within few months of the birth.....and the birth index states christian names as Mary Rickards and surname of Brain. Apparently not uncommon for the fathers name to be recorded as a middle name if the mother was unmarried. And of course when Reuben was born, he's recorded as a 'Brain' when you might have expected 'Rickards'?...again no fathers name recorded.

Thanks again,

Kind regards,

Linda

The Blistors Bream

Hi,

I am looking for more information about my great great grandmother- Mary Watkins ( nee Rickards Brain) and think I have found details of her death in Nov 1923; it states the residence as The Blistors, Bream.

She married William Watkins in March 1886, no children from the marriage.....although some info on this forum re The Blistors, can't seem to find out anything about 'the Watkins'.

Thank you,
