One little extra bit of info, Claude W Parnell who was the son of the Ruardean vicar from the early 1900s was a keen amateur photographer and lived across the road from the Laurels. There's a chapter about him in Leonard Clark's first book of reminiscences.

The photo really is a stroke of luck for you, it's beautiful.

My x Grandad William WICKENDEN was in Ruardean between 1878 and 1880 then back again to Blakeney.

EVANS, March 23, at Laurels, Ruardean, James EVANS, late Bell Hotel, aged 76 years

(the newspaper on his death, say he was kindly genial manner, and after his retirement from the Bell Hotel he filled the office of Churchwarden.

EVANS, Oct 3 - at The Laurels, Ruardean, Eliza JANE, daughter of the later James EVANS

Hello - we are looking for information on The Laurels on the High Street, Ruardean. We've found one partial old photo of the house online (taken from the Church looking East) but wondered if anyone could tell us who it was originally built for or whether there are any other photos of the house in existence?
