I know I may be clutching at straws but I wondered if anyone can identify the
location. He lived in the vicinity until 1914 when he joined the 2nd Battalion
Monmouthshire Regiment and was posted to Belgium

The 1891 census shows him as a groom at Tanhouse Road, Newland, a boarder with
the Bowey family. He was only 18 at this time and he appears older on the
photograph

Ruth Amy Harris (Burton) my grandmother, in the 1891 census was seven years old
and lived at "The Ruffett" civil parish Dixton Hadnock, Municipal Borough,
Monmouth.

She was born at Newland, Coleford to Henry Burton (St Briavells) and Elizabeth
Edwards (Whitecliff)

grandmother Ellen nee Lander (born Cinderford) and family during a break in hop
picking in 1913

The child in my grandmothers arms is my father Arthur Reginald Williams. The
girl on the left was,I believe, a friend of the family.

The location of the hop field is not known
