According to the IGI, John WILLETTS married Matilda COLE on the 24 May 1828, Newland Gloucester.

I'm hoping to obtain a marriage cert. or record of this, largely to get their father's names.

Since the GRO index is from 1837 onwards, am i correct in assuming that i wont be able to get this certificate from them? (if at all) and so am looking more for an entry in a church record?
