I think I can explain the 1891 Census entry.

I have a Moses Hale 1872 in my family tree who married Harriett, they had 2 children Sidney 1894 & Emily 1898.

The only reason they are in my family tree is that Moses 1872, son of Moses 1844 & Caroline 1844 had a brother George Reader Hale 1870 who married my 1st cousin 3 times removed Elizabeth Amelia Marfell 1870. They married in 1892 and the marriage certificate shows his father as Moses Hale Carpenter deceased.

Moses Hale 1844 was the son of Moses Hale 1813 & Mary Ann Gagg 1801. They married 20 Nov 1841 Newnham, Mary Ann Gagg being a widow at the time.

The Edith M E Hale shown married Thomas Oliver Hale 1862, son of William Hale 1831 & Elizabeth. Thomas & Edith M E Hale had 6 children including Archibald A Hale 1895 who married Florence Louisa Marfell 1896 whose parents were Oliver Marfell 1863 & Sarah Ann Smart. Oliver 1863 was the brother of Elizabeth Amelia Marfell 1870 mentioned earlier.

I have been researching Moses Hale born about January 1870 and baptised in 1871, son of William and Charlotte Hale.

Moses clearly lives in the family home from the census until 1881 but from that point on i have drawn a blank.

I have checked burial and marriage records and can't find any record for Moses.

Ancestry.co.uk seems to link Moses living as brother to Oliver Hale in 1891 approx 23 years old but this doesn't make sense as there is no Oliver as Moses sibling within this family and the recorded age for Moses within this census does not stack up.

Does anyone have any information about what became of Moses Hale from 1881?

I moved in to a house on the edge of the Forest of Dean last year, ( near the Pludds ). It was owned by a William Hale in 1883, who later passed it on to his son, also William. It would be really interesting to me to find out more about the history of our house and its past residents. Does anyone think they might be related to these people?
