William HOLDER c1847 Thornbury (reply)

Are we looking for the same William Holder? My William was born in 1847 and lived in Coleford (which obviously covers a few parishes) He married Elizabeth Tomlins on the 16th February 1873 at the age of 26 He was a miner His father was David Holder. Williams wife Elizabeth was aged 20 when she married and her father was named Henry who was also a miner. There was quite a large family and one of his sons was Elton who was my grandfather. Williams first wife died and he remarried and I think Elton and his brother Milson were from his second marriage. Elton had 6 children 1 son and 5 daughters. One of the daughters was my mum Annis Holder. The family seems to be complicated because of lack of registration details and I have hit a brick wall with David. I would appreciate any information you could share please. Likewise I may be able to fill in a few blanks. Elton still has one of his daughters living. She lives in Eastington Nr Stonehouse. She is the grand old age of 97. I hope this is some help to you. Regards Rena Phillips
