Battle of Coleford 1643 (reply)

Read with interest the reference to the "Battle of Coaleford 1643" posted on this site. Being of the Yorkshire branch of the Herbert family, we are also interested in local history. Having once visited one of the Gate Museums in York, we were interested in a large display of families who fought in the English Civil Wars. I notices with interest that in one of the battles the Herbert family fought on the side of the Lancastrian. To make quite certain of my Herbert's future loyalties, I purchased him a White Rose badge in the gift shop.He now knows which side he is on should the need ever occur. I will look forward to reading the article on the Battle of Coleford and any other conflicts in the area. Regards Jean Herbert
