Searching both this site's PRs, and the FamilySearch website, I cannot find any later records of a Comfort LYSUM (or similar surname) ...

Searching the PRs for Comfort Hiam/Hyam etc gives no results at all.
There are just 2 Comfort PHILIPS who were born in the right area at the right time;

Comfort LEIGHTON nee HIAM born abt 1801, Pauntley nr Newent. (reply)

Used the 1841 Census on the Forest of Dean for the first time, as was struggling to find them on Ancestry

Listed on Ancestry as COMBERT LAYTON and living in Pauntley

LAYTON

Thomas - 35
Combert - 40
Charles - 10
Mary - 7
Thomas - 3
Smuel - 14 2 Mo

Hi M,
I don't currently subscribe to Ancestry, but even when I did, my go-to backup site was LDS aka FamilySearch. Despite sometimes having inaccurate transcriptions, and being laborious to copy-across to other documents or webpages, it's always very good at dealing with tricky spelling variations and offering possible alternatives.

In this case I entered "Tho Laiten Newent" and the search immediately gave the following Census which matches the one you found of course.

1841 Pool Hill, Pauntley, Gloucestershire, England
Household Role Age Birthplace
Thomas Layton M 35-39 Gloucestershire
Comfort Layton F 40-44 Gloucestershire
Charles Layton M 10 Gloucestershire
Mary Layton F 7 Gloucestershire
Thomas Layton M 3 Gloucestershire
Samuel Layton M 1 Gloucestershire

https://www.familysearch.org

As it seems likely that Amie already has the later Census transcripts, I won't post them again here, but I will say their info shows perfect agreement with the following PRs from this site's database.
eg the 1871 Census for Thomas showed Thomas senior as a carrier. This is matched by his son Thomas Junior's Marriage Record here, to Selina as per his own 1871 Census.
