Josiah Hatton was buried Oglesby, La Salle, Illinois 29.09.1921.
Abiah 29.12.1933 La Salle, Illinois.

Now I have eventually found them in 1871 Census (on Ancestry) as Joseph (transcription error) and Abia Hutton, with infant William.

And I have found his wife Abiah and children in 1881 Census, which unusually, but very helpfully, cites head of household as "absent in America". There are two children born 1873 (Isaac) and 1880 (Alice Emily). Josiah was back in UK for the 1891 Census.

I have been unable to find Josiah Hatton (b1846) and Abiah (née Hale) in the 1871 census. Their son William was staying with grandparents Jonathan and Sarah but no sign of Josiah. Have tried many variations of spelling with no luck. Can anyone help?

As William and Alice on the 1891 census were born Lydbrook, probably their sister.
