Thank you for the information - the maiden name for Eva Rebecca and the 1912 registration should help me try and find out where they married and perhaps a clue to where he worked.

William George Allsopp, born 1888

I am looking for information on William George Allsopp. He was the son of Alvin and Sophia and was born in Berrow, Worcestershire in 1888 and lived in Pauntley parish until his marriage. He was a collier before he joined the navy as a stoker in 1910, and was killed at the Battle of Jutland on 31 May 1916 when his ship, HMS Defence, was destroyed. His wife was Eva Rebecca and by this time she lived in Newent, and had a son, also William.

I am trying to trace any relatives and to find out where he might have worked as a collier (I presume in the Forest somewhere) and where he and Eva were married (not Newent or Pauntley). I am researching the war memorial for Pauntley parish and have some information and a photo of him if anyone is looking at the family.

Any information would be really appreciated.
