When there is a body of evidence then you will know with a reasonable level of confidence. until then keep an open mind, and avoid assumptions if you can.

Having said that alot of this "game" is based on best guess, and interpretation of the records.

I personally believe in hard facts!
Thomas Charles Burley is definitely James Lee's son and I believe William 'Lee' Burley is also his son.
As you may know there is an ongoing transcription of the Parish Records on this site. It might be just a case of waiting until one of the other Burley children are married and that record has been transcribed before you find out if all the children belong to James.

Hopefully someone may have a valid reason why HARRIETT BURLEY born 1840 St Briavels kept the fathers name undisclosed of all of her 7 children these being, GEORGE born 1861, 1868, AURTHER 1875, THOMAS 1877, SINDNEY 1882, ROSA ANN 1866 & JOSEPH born 1873. Harriet has become some what of a mystery, I’m sure there’s an interesting story to be told I only wish I could find it.

Any clues would be of help even knowing her occupation.
