Thanks for this - I think Eleanor was my Grandmother, who married Rueben Maurince James in 1903.

Young George Ball died in a colliery accident in Wales at the age of 21 in 1898.

I would love to know who Sarah married - any ideas?

Like Biddy I wasn't aware "we" had a hard and fast boundary for the Forest of Dean save the natural boundaries of the Rivers Severn and Wye, then Ross across to Gloucester, as the focal triangle :-) However regular "readers" will find Somerset, Bristol, Birmingham, Staffordshire and Yorkshire at least mentioned in the threads.....

I am investigating my relatives - James and Ball who lived in Woolaston and Alvington respectively. I note that the areas covered by the Forest of Dean only go as far west as Lydney. Can anyone help me investigate Alvington/Woolaston?
