Hi, Thanks to you Nicky and to Slowhands for a very fast response to my question. He must have left Whitecroft sometime between 1870-78. The earliest record i have of him is his marriage certificate 1878. He was then living in Ammington, Sth. Staffordshire. In the 1881 census he had moved over the county border to Birchmoor, Nrth. warwickshire. As regards to William Lewis the lodger, the 1881 census states that there was a John Lewis aged 8 lodging with them. Again many thanks John.

Hi. I am a newcommer to Family history so i am looking for some help.
The only info i have regarding my Great Grandfather James James has come
from his marriage certificate. It states he was born in Whitecroft in
1853 +- 2years, for his fathers name he says he was born out of wedlock.
I hope someone can offer me some advice.
