That'll be Emma abt 1827 ( I suspect !), so a James Aston born before 1810 is a possible.

Is the non-conformist tradition where you should be looking ??

Given the rounding of adult ages in 1841 , I'm wondering if your James is younger than you think ?

Searching for James Aston. According to the 1851 census of Manchester, he was born at Coleford c.1801. James was a joiner by trade and passed away in Manchester in 1856. He married Esther Williams sometime around 1826 possibly in Monmouth, Wales. James and family have been located in Monmouth, Bristol and Manchester. Children's names are Emma, Esther, James, Alfred and Edwin.
Parents of James are unknown at this stage. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
