You say you have visited the cemetery, have you visited the various Churches around the area where your ancestors were from?
You may already know that there is the St John the Baptist Church in Ruardean, Ruardean Hill Baptist Church, Holy Jesus Church Lydbrook, Lydbrook Baptist Church, English Bicknor Church, and Holy Trinity Church Drybrook in the area. All these Churches have gravestones, you may be lucky and find some Walfords, there are definitely Meeks in some of the Churchyards.

Walford family Ruardean Hill (reply)

Thanks Bertha!! What I'm hoping for is that someone might have some information into where the children went when they left the forest. I'm also really struggling to trace Annie Meek's parentage. Another thing I'm having difficulties with is what has happened to Edwin's brother Alfred and his sister Elizabeth Ann. I have visited the cemetry in the forest but unfortunately can not find any other details relating to them. Best Wishes Odette.

Walford family Ruardean Hill

Hi, can anyone give me any information of Edwin Walford, his wife Annie Louise Meek and their children, Edith, Mabel, Elizabeth, Oliver, Edna, Gladys and Rene. They lived at Rose Cottage in the early 1900's and stayed there until the cottage was demolished. I believe Elizabeth married Leslie Sterry and remained in the forest along with Oliver. Any information would be gratefully recieved - Odette
