Parish records - Esther Selina BOURNS (reply)

I have checked the transcript and it is correct in every detail. I would add that there is a letter "p" in the left hand margin which suggests the child was privately baptised. In some cases this was done when the child was not expected to survive. I have also checked Christchurch burial records for that time and there is no record of a burial for Esther Selina.

Parish records - Esther Selina BOURNS

Seeing that an update of Christchurch baptisms had been added on the members site I, as usual, put in my Burns name and ticked the soundex and was surprised to see a Esther Selina Bourns baptised 24 April 1862 - parents Henry Bourns and Mary Ann, Joyford and Henry being a haulier. The parents are the correct names of my ggrandparents and place and occupation are correct but I have not come across the name of Esther before and all their other children were baptised at English Bicknor. Also, I cannot find the registered birth or possible death of this child, nor is she on the 1871 census. Could there be any possibility of a mix up when the record was being transcribed.
Kind regards
Gill
