Slowhands, I do believe you have found us some "missing links" in the Yorkshire area. I don't know how you do it. We have found relatives in the Gloucestershire area thanks to yourself and this site but have had not much luck finding them in the Yorkshire area, apart from our first finding of a Herbert/Phelps family who "emigrated" to our area. This was how we initially discovered that they came from the Forest of Dean, this was a few years ago and caused great excitment in the family as they always thought they originated in Yorkshire. This has of course lead to researching other families related by marriage, the search goes on. Thanks again. Jean

As always Slowhands, brilliant. The confusion arose in my records as I have a Martin Brain born abt 1863 East Dean, also married to an Emily Waite born abt 1859 East Dean. They married in 1888 Q2 Vol 6a page 437 registered in Westbury on Severn. Thanks again. Jean Herbert

Albert Herbert born abt 1860 East Dean. Father Denise Herbert born abt 1838, who was the illigitimate son of Asina Herbert born abt 1815.

I found Albert on 1871 census with his father Denise,in Gloucestershire, aged 11 according to census. Albert married Emily Waite in Dewsbury Yorkshire in 1880. Emily was born abt 1859 in East Dean. I found the couple living with her father William Waite and family in Batley Yorkshire but after the 1881 census I can find no trace of them. Does anyone have them in their tree? Jean Herbert
