My goodness, Lesley, what a wonderful message to see first thing in the morning here in Canada. I can’t believe I never thought to look for her under her step father’s surname. Well done! Yes, we must be related and I’m excited to explore that possibility. I have taken DNA tests and uploaded to the other major websites as have my brother and sister and another Morgan descendant and mutual cousin. You can contact me at dfgenealogy@gmail.com. I look forward to meeting you and working with you and our mutual cousin on discovering the rest of Charlotte’s story.
Best wishes, Donna Fraser

Hi Donna

Better late than never ...

I have just discovered that Charlotte married as Charlotte Tingle in Chepstow on 20 July 1857.

Her husband was James Boux - but despite that unusual name, I have not been able to find any further trace of them.

We must be distant cousins.

Yes, that is our family. It doesn't however answer my current query about the disappearance of Amelia's daughter, Charlotte Morgan. It would be nice to connect with someone who perhaps is descended from her or knows her story. Thanks for trying to help.

Charlotte MORGAN b. 1827 Ruardean d/o John & Amelia

I've been searching for my half-great-grandaunt Charlotte Morgan for over 20 years. I can trace her until December 15, 1848 when her illegitimate son John Morgan was born in Ruardean. (The father's name was not given on his birth certificate.) Charlotte's son John was raised by his maternal grandmother Amelia Tingle (nee Bradley, previously Morgan).

I believe that Charlotte Morgan is the unmarried servant, age 22, born Ruardean living in the home of Inn Keeper Thomas Roper in the Parish of Ross at the time of the 1851 census.

There were other Charlotte Morgans that married, died and were buried in and around the Forest of Dean but none that I have found to date have been this Charlotte Morgan. I have been able to trace her 10 siblings (Morgan and Tingle) but Charlotte is a mystery.

Any suggestions and/or help would be very much appreciated.
Donna
